Burns Supper 2027
As is tradition, Bryne Kro & Hotell celebrates the birthday of Scottish poet Robert Burns in January. We will be visited by Scots who will perform Haggis, bagpipes, music and help complete the evening with dancing in true Scottish style!
This year's haggis is, as in previous years, made in Bergen by real Scots, made in the traditional way. It uses a secret ingredient that has been passed down from generation to generation for almost 200 years!
A «Burns Supper» follows fixed and traditional rituals, and is set up in the same way no matter where you are in the world. It all starts with some well-chosen opening words from Lord Laurence Blair-Oliphant, before a bagpiper leads the chef to the table for the serving of Haggis. This is followed by rhythmic clapping from the guests. Afterwards, Burns reads his famous poem «To A Haggis» before the meal can begin. The meal consists of Haggis, mashed potatoes and mashed turnips.
Another whiskey is also served, which is included in the price.
A great evening with lots of good Scottish tradition and dancing for those who want it. The evening ends with a live concert in the bar with the Scottish band “The Alba Band”
